Functions of the Department
The functions of the Human Resources Department include the following:
- Formulate and review strategies and policies for Human Resource Management and Development in the health sector
- Design career development strategies as a guide for determination of career path for the of members staff of the health sector
- Identify core training needs of the Public service in line with government objectives and goals for development of the health sector
- Initiate collaboration with institutions of higher learning for purposes of offering suitable talent and appropriate training to the public service
- Formulate and coordinate the performance management systems applicable to monitor employee productivity in the health sector
- Undertake research and analysis of the status of human resource function in the health sector for use of review in recommendation of changes to the strategic plans
- Undertake monitoring and evaluation on human resource management and development in the health sector
- Manage the capture of impact assessments on training undertaken by staff in the health sector to determine output on the service delivery
- Manage the conduction of human resource skills audit and maintain skills inventory of the health sector
