
The Ministry of Health Development of the Republic of Somaliland, specifically the Tuberculosis Control Program in collaboration with Word Vision, organized a two-day training on Tuberculosis (TB) awareness, specifically for women health awareness workers in the Damal Health Project.

The aim of the training was to increase public understanding and knowledge about this serious disease, in order to reduce its spread and strengthen its prevention.The training was jointly opened by the Head of the Tuberculosis (TB) Control Program, Dr. Abdirahman Aliin. And the Coordinator of the Ministry of Health Development in Maroodi-jeex Region, Dr. Mahad Abdi Yasin.

During the training, participants were taught what TB is, its symptoms, how it spreads, and the role of awareness in controlling the disease. They were also trained on the correct way to refer anyone with symptoms of or suspected of having TB to health centers and hospitals for immediate testing and treatment.In conclusion, the officials encouraged the participants to work effectively in raising awareness and referring patients, in order to control TB and protect public health.
