
The Deputy Minister of Health Development of the Republic of Somaliland, Ms. Samsam Mohamed Salah, today officially inaugurated the Gabiley General Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a significant step in improving the quality and scope of health services in the region.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Gabiley District Mayor Abdirashid Haybe Farah, Gabiley Deputy Mayor Dr. Abdillaahi Ismail Abdi, Regional Secretary Abdishakur Mohamed Hassan (Gande), Poet Hassan Dahir Weedhsame, Uqaal, Waxgarad, health professionals, women, youth and other dignitaries.The opening of this ICU Unit responds to a long-standing need in the region, as it serves patients in critical health conditions who require constant monitoring, modern equipment and prompt medical care.

This department will greatly contribute to saving the lives of many patients, and will also significantly reduce the long journeys to emergency care services.The Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Health Development, Ms. Samsam Mohamed Salah, who spoke at the event, said that the opening of the ICU Department at Gabiley General Hospital is a great achievement for the community in the region.

It is a testament to the continuous efforts of the Ministry of Health Development to provide quality health services to all regions of the country, especially in the care of critical health conditions.”Finally, the Deputy Minister commended the hospital administration, the health community and all those who participated in the implementation of this important project, urging them to manage this new department efficiently and responsibly.
