
The Minister of Health Development of Somaliland, Dr. Hussein Bashir Hirsi, and a large delegation led by him, who are on a working trip to the eastern regions of the Republic of Somaliland, have officially arrived in the Ceel-afweyn district of the Sanaag region. This planned trip will be enhanced by direct inspection of health facilities in remote areas, in order to truly understand the needs and the level of health services provided to the community
.

The delegation included the Director General of the Ministry, Dr. Ahmed Mahmoud Jama, and the directors of various departments. First, the delegation inspected the Ceel-afweyn Hospital and the Mother and Child Center in the district, which were evaluated for their work procedures, management system, and how the centers respond to the needs of the surrounding community. The officials also held meetings with the health authorities, traditional elders, and various sectors of the community, to listen to their suggestions, views, and challenges.

While in Ceel-afweyn, the Minister and his delegation officially inaugurated a new Mother and Child Health Center, which will greatly contribute to the care of mothers and children and improve the quality of health services in the area.Also, while in the district, the Minister and his accompanying officials officially launched a health program jointly implemented by the Somaliland Ministry of Health Development, UNFPA and the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief).

This health program provides the community with comprehensive health services, especially those related to reproductive, maternal and child health.The services are provided by experienced doctors, and medicines are also provided to deal with the management of diseases and health conditions prevalent in the regions of the country, which are particularly important in situations arising from drought and difficult environmental conditions.

This program, which plays a major role in improving the health status of the community, was officially launched by the Minister, accompanied by the Director General of the Ministry, and will last for five days.
