Vice Minister of Health Oversee Wajaale Hospital

The Deputy Minister of Health Development of the Republic of Somaliland, Dr. Mohamed Daahir, has paid an inspection visit to Gabiley Region, specifically Wajaale District, to assess the health situation in the area.

The Minister was accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Health Development at the national and regional levels, including the Director of the Department of Public Health, the Head of the Mosquito-Borne Disease Control Program, the Gabiley Regional Health Coordinator, and Wajaale District officials.

During the inspection, the Deputy Minister heard reports from regional and district health officials on the disease situation, the measures taken so far, and their impact.

The Deputy Minister also handed over mosquito nets to health facilities for those most vulnerable to mosquito-borne diseases and patient care facilities, as well as malaria testing kits. This is part of the Ministry’s efforts, as additional medicines have already been delivered to the region to control the situation.

Finally, the Deputy Minister and his delegation delivered awareness messages to the community on mosquito prevention and control, urging the public to take hygiene measures and those that prevent mosquito-borne diseases.
