The Director General of the Ministry of Health Development of the Republic of Somaliland, Dr. Ahmed Mahmoud Jama, today conducted an unannounced inspection of the hospitals in the cities of Burco and Berbera, during a recent working trip to the Eastern regions of the country.
The purpose of this inspection was for the Director General to directly observe the smooth running of health services provided by these important facilities for the community, and to identify the urgent needs of the hospitals in order to respond to them.While at the Burco and Berbera hospitals, Dr. Ahmed Mahmoud Jama held special meetings with the administration and health staff of these facilities, providing encouragement and practical suggestions to improve the quality of the services they provide.
The Director also toured the various departments of the hospitals, such as the operating room, maternity ward, laboratory, pediatric and inpatient departments, to see firsthand the state of the services and medical equipment they have.“I came to be informed about the real situation of the hospitals, so that I can convey this information to the Ministry, so that we can find a lasting solution. I thank the health workers for their efforts, and we are ready to jointly improve the services,” said Dr. Ahmed.
