The Director General of the Ministry of Health Development of the Republic of Somaliland, Dr. Ahmed Mahmoud Jama, officially inaugurated the Institute for the Collection and Training of Non-Communicable Diseases.
This institute, a joint venture between the University of Burco and the University of Wavellton, was established to provide comprehensive information on non-communicable diseases, and will contribute significantly to training to enhance the knowledge and skills of health workers.
The opening ceremony was attended by various officials, including the Director of the Ministry’s Public Health Department,The Director of Burco General Hospital,Representatives from Amoud, Hargeisa, Edna and Wavellton Universities,Global Health and many other distinguished guests.
This new institute will be a key center for the development of research, data collection and training related to non-communicable diseases, which are a growing health challenge for the community.
