
The Director General of the Ministry of Health Development, Dr. Ahmed Mahmoud Jama, launched a joint project between the Ministry of Health Development, the TaiwanICDF Office and SCI, which is to treat and control Leishmaniasis, which has been observed in some areas of the Sanaag region.

The project focuses on training related to data collection, patient management and surveying of areas where the disease has been reported.Director General Dr. Ahmed Mahmoud Jama gave a speech there, highlighting the importance of this project, saying that it will play a major role in strengthening the capacity of health workers and improving their knowledge to effectively prevent Leishmaniasis and to obtain accurate information, accelerate treatment, and reduce the impact of the disease, especially in areas where it has emerged.

These efforts are part of a larger operation that the Ministry has been conducting in the Sanaag region for the past few months, which aims to strengthen the knowledge and skills of health workers, especially those working in hospitals and maternity and child care centers in the city of Erigavo and the Sanaag region.
