Minister of Health Recieved Taiwan Ambassador

The Minister of Health Development of the Republic of Somaliland, Dr. Hussein Bashir Hirsi, today officially received the Ambassador of Taiwan to Somaliland, Mr. Allen Lou, in his office, in a meeting that highlights the strengthening of health cooperation between the two countries.

The Minister was accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry, including the Deputy Minister of the Ministry, Ms. Samsam Mohamed Salah, the Director General Dr. Ahmed Mahmoud Jama, the Director of the Planning Department, and the Minister’s Advisor. The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen bilateral relations based on the development of health services, especially the acceleration of important projects that the Taiwanese government is implementing in Somaliland.

The focus was on the new Taiwan Medical Center project, which will soon be built at the Hargeisa General Hospital, and will become a modern facility that will enhance the quality of health services in the country. Minister Dr. Hussein Bashir thanked the government and people of Taiwan for their continued support for the people of Somaliland, noting that the Taiwan Medical Center project will be a “historic step” that will lead to access to health services that meet international standards.

On the other hand, Ambassador Allen Lou underlined Taiwan’s commitment to further strengthening health cooperation, noting that Somaliland and Taiwan are two countries that understand each other and share common goals based on development, peace, and social progress.
