Minister of Health Visits Districts in the Eastern Regions

The Minister of Health Development of the Republic of Somaliland, Dr. Hussein Bashir Hirsi, and a large delegation led by him, on a working trip through the Eastern regions of the country, reached the areas of Qoryale, Qaloocan, Lake Gubataxil and Waraabeeye.

The purpose of this well-planned trip was to strengthen the direct monitoring of health facilities in remote areas, in order to truly assess the existing needs and the level of health services provided to the community. The monitoring focused on the quality of services, access to medicines, health workers, and the smooth management of the facilities.

The delegation included the Director General of the Ministry of Health Development of the Republic of Somaliland, Dr. Ahmed Mahmoud Jama, the directors of various departments of the Ministry, and the Regional Health Coordinator.

First of all, the delegation was warmly welcomed in Qoryale, where they held fruitful meetings with the local administration, elders, and various sectors of the community. The meetings discussed the state of health services, priority needs, and ways to strengthen cooperation between the Ministry and the local community.

After that, the officials moved on to the areas of Qaloocan, Lake Gubataxil, and Waraabeeye, visiting the health facilities in those areas one by one. The Minister and his delegation closely monitored the progress of the services, and listened to direct reports from health workers and facility officials. They also saw firsthand the real conditions in those areas, so that the Ministry’s plans could be based on real data and visible needs.

This working trip is part of the ongoing efforts of the Ministry of Health Development, JSL, which are to ensure access to quality, equitable, and accessible health services to all regions and districts of the country, especially in areas far from major centers.
