After The Vice Minister of Health DeputyLiban has met the Health Emergency Committee of the MOHD and listened a briefing about the status of Dengue Fever and what committee has done so far about it nation wide, The Awdal Regional Health Coordinator met the Regional Health Emergency Committee in order to convene and discuss the status of Dengue Fever in Awdal region while adopting the Ministry’s Dengue Fever Management Guidelines.
Similarly, Maroodijeeh, Sahil, Togdheer, Sanaan and Oodwayne Regional Health Coordinators had met their respective Regional Health Emergency Committees in order to assess the situation of the high fever that many claimed the lives of many Somalilanders.
After that, Togdheer Regional Health carried out a cleaning and sanitation campaign targeting the IDP centers. The regional health emergency committee spearheaded the campaign that raised the level of awareness of the community to fight the mosquito and its breeding site.
Subsequently, Awdal Health Regional Coordination Office had initiated an awareness raising campaign against the Dengue Fever in Borama. The Regional Health Coordinator who was leading the campaign used 12 government vehicles carrying loud speakers that carried the awareness message and roamed around the city.
