The Minister Supervise “Big Catch-Up” Vaccination Campaign in Maroodijeeh Region

The Minister of Health Development of the Republic of Somaliland, Dr. Hussein Bashir Hirsi, today inspected health facilities in the Maroodi-Jeex region, where he observed the progress of the “Big Catch-Up” childhood vaccination campaign, which is in its sixth day and is expected to be officially concluded tomorrow.

The inspection is part of the ongoing efforts of the Ministry of Health Development of the Republic of Somaliland to ensure the quality and level of implementation of the national childhood vaccination campaign, which is set to reach thousands of children who have not yet received all the essential vaccines that protect their health.

During his inspection, the Minister listened to detailed reports from the officials of the facilities he visited, closely following the work of the vaccination teams and how the community is being educated on the importance of vaccination. The Minister encouraged parents to bring their children to health facilities, to ensure that their children receive the necessary vaccines, which are a prevention of serious childhood diseases.

He also commended and commended the health workers, who are working diligently and efficiently in the vaccination campaign, urging them to continue their efforts to achieve the national goal of vaccinating all children under the age of five.

The Minister of the Ministry of Health Development was accompanied by the Maroodi-Jeex Regional Health Coordinator and the Deputy Director of the Ministry’s Vaccination Department, who presented reports on the progress and challenges encountered during the campaign.This “Big Catch-Up” vaccination campaign is part of the national plan to strengthen the childhood vaccination system and ensure that children in Somaliland receive comprehensive, modern, and internationally recognized health services.
