
The Coordinator of the Ministry of Health Development in Maroodijeex Region, Dr. Mahad Abdi Yaasiin, today officially opened a major training focused on accelerating the vaccination of children under five years of age (Big Catch-Up Campaign). The training, organized by the Ministry of Health Development, was held in Hargeisa city and was attended by staff from maternal and child health centers (MCHs), as well as community outreach departments, which are the backbone of the implementation of immunization services and community outreach at the regional and district levels.

The aim of the training is to accelerate the vaccination of children who have not previously received or have not completed the vaccination course, to ensure that all children in Somaliland receive full protection against preventable diseases.

Routine immunization and community-based health service delivery will also be strengthened, increasing the number of vaccinated children and access to reliable health services. Dr. Mahad Abdi Yasin said that this training is a major part of the national effort to strengthen the vaccination program, indicating that the Ministry is committed to vaccinating all children in Somaliland.

The coordinator urged all health workers participating in the implementation of the vaccination service to serve the community with efficiency, responsibility and honesty.
