The Minister of Health Development, Dr. Hussein Bashir Hirsi, and the Director General of the Ministry, Dr. Ahmed Mahmoud Jama, today received a certificate of honor from UNICEF, which was presented to the Ministry, especially the Department of Vaccination and Child Health, in recognition of its continuous efforts to improve children’s health.
The award was in recognition of the excellent work and significant progress made in strengthening child health services, especially the delivery of comprehensive vaccination services to private hospitals by 2025. This initiative, which was implemented for the first time by the Ministry, played a major role in expanding vaccination services, increasing community access, and strengthening partnerships between the public and private sectors.
The implementation of this plan directly contributed to increasing the level of vaccination of children, reducing preventable diseases, and accelerating efforts to protect the health of the younger generation.
