
The Deputy Minister of Health Development of the Republic of Somaliland, Ms. Samsam Mohamed Salah, today officially participated in the International Day of the Midwife, which was widely celebrated in the city of Hargeisa.

The event, organized by the Somaliland Nursing and Midwifery Association, highlighted the essential role that midwives play in saving the lives of mothers and babies, and how to enhance the reputation and role of midwives in the country.

Ms. Samsam Mohamed Salah, in her speech, commended midwives for their dedication and dedication to their work, noting that the Ministry of Health Development is particularly interested in developing the skills of midwives and improving the services they provide.“Midwives are the backbone of maternal and newborn health services. They are the lifeline for hundreds of mothers and babies every day.

As a ministry, we stand ready to work with you and promote your skills and dignity,” said the deputy minister.The event was also attended by other officials from the ministry, health organizations and representatives from international organizations, all of whom unanimously praised the work of midwives and the need to further strengthen their support.
