
The Minister of Health Development, Dr. Hussein Bashir Hirsi, accompanied by members of the Ministry’s Departmental Directors and Heads of the Nutrition Division, received a high-level delegation from the Global Malnutrition Initiative (GMI) and Save the Children at his office.The delegation shared with the Minister the purpose of their visit, which was to monitor and observe the implementation of the collaborative project between the Ministry of Health Development, GMI, and Save the Children.

They presented the areas where the project has been implemented, the results achieved, and how support can be strengthened to improve community nutrition.During the meeting, the Deputy Director of the Planning and Policy Department, Abdiqani Hassan, shared a detailed report with the delegation and other participants on, Activities carried out in the project areas Overall progress of the Ministry.

During the project period, Challenges facing health services, Plans of the Ministry for the coming periodAlso, Abdikarim Abdalle Mohamed, Head of the Nutrition Section, explained the importance of the ICCM Plus project to the community, especially in enhancing nutrition and child care services in remote areas. He noted that this project is important in reducing malnutrition and providing emergency health services to vulnerable communities.

The delegation thanked the Minister and the Ministry’s administration for the warm welcome and good cooperation, commending the Ministry’s efforts in enhancing nutrition services, especially those that are safe for children and mothers.Finally, the Minister thanked the delegation for their continued support to the Ministry of Health Development.

He noted that the donations provided by GMI and Save the Children played a significant role in the implementation of the project during its implementation, and are important for the development of community health, especially child and maternal care.
