Mosquito Nets Handed Over to Military and Custodial Corps

The Director General of the Ministry of Health Development of the Republic of Somaliland, Dr. Ahmed Mahmoud Jama, today officially handed over 2,700 (two thousand seven hundred) treated mosquito nets to the Somaliland National Army and the Correctional Service, which are intended to strengthen efforts to control and prevent mosquito-borne disease9s.

The handover ceremony, which took place at the Malaria Control Center of the Ministry of Health Development, is part of the Ministry’s plan to strengthen the prevention of infectious diseases, especially malaria and other mosquito-borne diseases, which continue to pose a threat to public health.These treated mosquito nets are intended to protect the health of the troops, while reducing the risks of mosquito bites, especially for troops deployed in areas where mosquitoes are common.

Dr. Ahmed Mahmoud Jama indicated that the Ministry of Health Development is committed to strengthening measures to prevent mosquito-borne diseases, noting that treated mosquito nets are among the most effective ways to reduce the spread of mosquito-borne diseases.

The officials from the National Army and the Correctional Service who received the nets thanked the Ministry of Health Development for this important support, stating that these materials will play a major role in protecting the health of the troops and strengthening efforts to combat infectious diseases.This step is part of the ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Health Development to improve the health of the troops and strengthen disease prevention, with a special focus on protecting the various forces of the Republic of Somaliland.
