Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response (IDSR) Training Closed

The Director of Planning and Policy Development at the Ministry of Health Development of the Republic of Somaliland, Ms. Idil Ismail Muse, today officially closed a major training course on strengthening the Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response (IDSR) system.The training focused on strengthening the processes for collecting, storing, collating, analyzing, transmitting and responding to health data, in accordance with the modern IDSR system. The training played a significant role in improving the quality of health data and strengthening the capacity to monitor diseases and respond to health emergencies.

The closing ceremony was attended by officials from the Ministry of Health Development, representatives from the World Health Organization (WHO), Regional Health Coordinators, and health data storage and management officials in the regions of the country.

The Director of Planning, Ms. Idil Ismail Muse, commended the participants for their efforts and commitment during the training. She noted that the quality of health data is the basis for planning health services, and it is important that the knowledge and skills gained from the training are directly applied in the workplace, to obtain accurate and timely data, which supports informed decision-making and strengthens the response to health emergencies.

This training was jointly organized by the Ministry of Health Development of the Republic of Somaliland and the World Health Organization (WHO), as part of efforts to strengthen the disease surveillance system, improve the quality of health data and accelerate the capacity to respond to health emergencies.
