The Director General of the Ministry of Health Development of the Republic of Somaliland, Dr. Ahmed Mahmoud Jama, today officially opened the 2025 doctor internship. The new doctors will undergo their internship in major hospitals in the country, where they will gain comprehensive work experience to strengthen their medical skills.
The opening ceremony of the internship was attended by the Director of the Human Resources Department of the Ministry of Health Development, the Head of Training of the Ministry, Directors of major hospitals in the country, as well as medical experts from the Ministry of Health Development.
The Director of the Human Resources Department and the Head of Training and the Directors of the hospitals encouraged the doctors to take advantage of this opportunity, highlighting the importance of finding qualified and experienced professionals.
Dr. Ahmed Mahmoud Jama, who delivered a speech at the opening, said that this exercise is important for the qualification of new doctors and the improvement of health services in the country. He stressed that the Ministry of Health Development is committed to providing new doctors with high-quality training in line with the health needs of the community.
The 2025 doctors’ exercise is expected to contribute significantly to improving the quality of health services in Somaliland, as doctors will gain direct experience in various health sectors in the country’s hospitals.
