The second phase of MhGAP training has been conducted for Awdal health workers. The 20 trainees that were given the training had been based the primary care health providers based in Awdal health centers and hospitals.
Nonetheless, during the 6-day training, the trainees will betrained on MhGap interventions guide for mental, neurological and substance use disorders in specialty setting. This WHO-developed guide which has been used by more than 90 countries is for use by doctors, nurses and other health care providers.
The objective of this very comprehensive TOT training was aimed at helping non-specialists conduct standardized clinical interviews and examinations and further more help health care providers remain patient-centered and protect the rights of the patient.
