The second phase of MhGAP training has been concluded for Sool health workers. The 15 trainees that were given the training had been based in Las’Anod General Hospital.
Nonetheless, the trainees were trained on MhGap interventions guide for mental, neurological and substance use disorders in specialty setting. This WHO-developed guide which has been used by more than 90 countries is for use by doctors, nurses and other health care providers.
The objective of this very comprehensive TOT training was aimed at helping non-specialists conduct standardized clinical interviews and examinations and further more help health care providers remain patient-centered and protect the rights of the patient.
