HARGEISA – The Minister of Health Development, Dr. Hussein Bashir, accompanied by the Director of Hargeisa General Hospital, Dr. Ahmed-wali Daahir Haddi, conducted an official inspection of both the MAS Children’s Hospital and the pediatric ward at Hargeisa General Hospital.
The visit aimed to assess the condition of numerous children suffering from diarrhea and measles—two diseases that have severely impacted the community, particularly young children. During the inspection, the officials evaluated the health status of the affected children, reviewed the quality of services being provided, and identified critical gaps and needs.
Dr. Bashir and Dr. Haddi also extended their encouragement to the doctors and health workers on the front lines, commending their dedication to saving young lives under challenging circumstances.
In response to the outbreak, the Ministry of Health Development urges the public to strengthen personal and environmental hygiene, ensure children are fully vaccinated, and seek immediate medical attention at health centers as soon as symptoms of these diseases appear.
