The Minister of Health Development of the Somaliland Government, Mr. Hussein Bashir Hirsi, and a delegation led by him visited Burco town in Togdheer region to assess the health conditions in the region.
The delegation, which was accompanied by the Director of the Department of Child Health and Vaccination, and the Head of Regional Relations of the Ministry, was warmly welcomed by the Coordinator of the Ministry in Togdheer Region, the Governor of the Region, and the officials of Burco General Hospital.
The purpose of the inspection was to observe the general health situation in the region, especially the measles disease that has been widely appearing in the regions of the region in recent weeks. During the inspection, the Minister listened to detailed reports from the regional health administration and the hospital, closely assessing the level of services provided.
The Minister also conducted a direct inspection of various departments of the Burco General Hospital, including the Emergency Department, the Oxygen Department, and the special ward for treating patients suffering from measles.
This inspection is part of the Ministry’s efforts to strengthen health services and prevent the spread of infectious diseases, to ensure the safety and health of the community.
