
The Director General of the Ministry of Health Development of the Republic of Somaliland, Dr. Ahmed Mahmoud Jama, officially opened the monthly meeting of the Nutrition Section and various organizations working with the Ministry.

The meeting, which took place in Hargeisa, was aimed at discussing and exchanging information and reviewing the nutrition operations of the past month. It also discussed the challenges and how to jointly find sustainable solutions.

The Director General, who delivered the opening speech, noted the importance of continuous collaboration between the Ministry and international organizations, encouraging all participants to further strengthen consultation and coordination to improve nutrition services in the country.

Afterwards, the Head of Nutrition at the Ministry of Health Development spoke about the importance of this meeting, noting that it is important to regularly review what has been achieved and the challenges that exist in order to improve nutrition plans in the country.

Also, the conference was actively attended by a representative from UNICEF, speaking on behalf of the Ministry’s partners, who expressed the organizations’ commitment to supporting the government’s efforts to strengthen nutrition services, especially those related to mothers and children.

The conference concluded with a consensus and encouragement towards accelerating nutrition plans and strengthening sustainable partnerships between the Ministry and international organizations.
