
The Somaliland Health Development Minister, Mr. Hussein Bashir Hirsi, has officially received from UNFPA a shipment of essential medical supplies and medicines for the development of maternal and newborn health services.

The high-quality medical supplies include equipment specifically designed for maternal and newborn care during childbirth, surgical equipment, and equipment to maintain the temperature of newborns, which will play a major role in enhancing health services in maternal and newborn care facilities.

The Minister was accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Health Development, including department directors and senior advisors, who demonstrated their commitment to the development of health services in the country.
Minister Hussein Bashir Hirsi thanked UNFPA for its significant role in improving health services in our country, noting that these supplies will greatly contribute to the needs of health facilities, especially those for mothers and children.

“We deeply appreciate UNFPA for its continuous work with us to improve health services. The supplies we received today will change the situation of maternal and child services in many parts of the country,” said the minister
