The Director General of the Ministry of Health Development of the Republic of Somaliland, Dr. Ahmed Mahmoud Jama, today officially opened the National Health Policy Review Meeting, which is an important meeting to assess the status of health policy implementation and its relevance to the health situation and needs of the Somaliland society.
The meeting was attended by major health stakeholders, including United Nations agencies, international health organizations, health professional associations, the National Health Professionals Council (NHPC), and senior officials from various departments and divisions of the Ministry.
During the meeting, in-depth discussions were held on how to strengthen the country’s health policy and ensure that it fully reflects the real needs of the society, taking into account the ongoing changes in the areas of health services and the development of the national health system.
This national health policy review meeting is part of the Damal Cafaim project, which is being implemented by the Ministry of Health Development, in collaboration with the World Bank Group, to achieve an efficient, sustainable health system that responds to the needs of the Somaliland community.
