
The Director of the Public Health Department and the Head of Nutrition and Food Protection at the Ministry of Health Development officially concluded a 12-day Master Training of Trainers (Master ToT) on the Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM) Guidelines.The training strengthened the knowledge and skills of health professionals to implement and train the IMAM Guidelines, an international guideline for the management and treatment of children under five years of age suffering from acute malnutrition.

The guidelines have been revised and updated to align with the latest recommendations issued by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2023, as part of efforts to improve the quality of nutrition and child care services.The Head of Nutrition and Food Protection elaborated on the various stages of the revision of this guide, noting that this process began in 2025, and is currently in the final stages of completion and approval, with plans to officially conclude it in 2026.In addition, representatives of the agencies working with the Ministry on this project spoke about the importance of this guide and its role in improving nutrition services, praising the Ministry for its continuous efforts to improve public health services.

The heads of the Ministry of Health Development particularly thanked the experts and trainers who led the training from the World Health Organization (WHO), who played a major role in transferring knowledge, improving training and revising the guide.The authorities also commended the WHO, UNICEF and WFP for their technical support and important role in reviewing the guide and implementing this important training.Finally, certificates were awarded to the members who completed the IMAM Master Training, in recognition of their efforts and contributions to the development of nutrition and child care services.This IMAM Master Training is part of the efforts of the Ministry of Health Development and partner organizations to strengthen the child malnutrition management system, in order to provide quality health services in line with international standards and guidelines.
