The Minister of the Ministry of Health Development of the Republic of Somaliland, Mr. Dr. Hussein Bashir Hirsi. officially cut the ribbon for the new building of the Berbera Psychiatric HospitalThe ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by members of the Cabinet, the Manager of the JSL Ports, the Governors of Saaxil and Togdheer Regions, General Directors, the Director of the Mental Health Department, doctors, other officials and many distinguished guests.
The officials who spoke there spoke in depth about the importance of this new building and how it will play a major role in the development of mental health services in the Saaxil Region and the country as a whole.
The Minister, who officially cut the ribbon for the new building, gave a speech in which he spoke about the role and efforts of the Ministry of Health Development in expanding and improving health services in the country, especially in the field of mental health.
The building, which cost half a million dollars ($500,000), consists of:• Men’s section: 26 rooms• Women’s section: 12 rooms• Nurses’ rooms: 6 rooms• Doctors’ rooms: 3 rooms• Pharmacy• 4 administrative offices• Conference hall• Kitchen• Store• 18 bathrooms• Guard room.
