The Ministry of Health Development of the Republic of Somaliland held the Conference on the Coordination of Health and Nutrition Programs, which focused on strengthening cooperation and coordination between the various organizations working on health and nutrition issues in the country.
The meeting, which lasted for two days, was officially concluded, and its closure was led by the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Health Development, Mrs. Samsam Mohamed Saleh. The Director General of the Ministry, Dr. Ahmed Mohamud Jama, the heads of departments and different sections of the ministry, medical experts, and representatives from international organizations that support health and nutrition programs.
During the meeting, there was an in-depth discussion about the achievements, the challenges, and the strategic direction to develop the health and nutrition programs in the future, with special attention to the real needs of the community
Director General of the Ministry, Dr. Ahmed Mohamud Jama, delivered an important speech at the meeting, noting the importance of the views and recommendations that emerged from the discussions that lasted for two days. He also stated that the Ministry is committed to implementing the important decisions and recommendations made at the meeting.
On her part, the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Health Development, Mrs. Samsam Mohamed Salah, who officially closed the meeting, stressed the importance of health and nutrition programs for the development of the country’s general health. She encouraged the participants to strengthen cooperation, and work seriously to implement the important points that were focused on in the meeting, in order to obtain effective results that reflect the needs of society.
The conference specifically focused on the acceleration of nutrition services, especially for mothers and children, using reliable information, clear planning, and continuous cooperation between government agencies and international partners.
