Members of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Somaliland which includes the Minister of Health Development Dr. Hussain Bashir Hirsi, the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Health Development Ms. Samsam Mohamed Salah, the Director General of the Ministry of Health Development Dr. Ahmed Mohamud Jama and various sections of the community, participated today in the launch of the National Blood Donation Campaign which started today throughout the region and the districts of the country to get blood reserves to save patients who need blood transfusions.
In a highly organized event held at the Hargeisa General Hospital’s blood storage section, the officials first inspected the blood storage section of the Hargeisa hospital, after which the officials donated blood one by one, to participate in the National Blood Donation Campaign which was scheduled for the 25-26 days of this month in order to find a reserve of blood that can be used in the month of Ramadan if needed.
The officials called on the community to actively participate in the two-day National Blood Donation Campaign.
